Australian Cattle Dog:
The Australian cattle dog is known by various names such as the queens land heeler, the blue heeler and the red heeler. It is a breed of herding dog that is developed in Australia for the purpose of herding cattle. These dogs have a lot of energy intellect and also possess an independent streak. These dogs are muscular and athletic in appearance .They posses all the necessary qualities that are required to herd cattle. They posses the optimum amount of symmetry and balance. No part of this dog draws excessive attention. These dogs are even bred for companion and show purposes and even they have hard muscles.
These dogs come in two basic colors that are blue and red. They have various marking patterns on their coats and sometimes these patterns are quite striking. These dog puppies are initially born white and their colors darken as they grow older. The most common color found in these dogs are blue and they possess ginger spots on their legs and some ginger color spots on their undersides also. The females of this breed measure to about 43 to 48 cms while the males of this breed measure to about 46 to 51 cms.
