Belgian Shepherd Dog:
Belgian Shepherd Dog is a hardy working dog developed in Belgium for herding sheep. They are also called as Belgian sheepdog at times. They are very intelligent and sensitive. They have the ability to think quickly and be alert to what is going on in the surroundings. Above all Belgian sheepdogs are known to be very loyal. They are always hard working and so prefer to be doing some or the other work rather than be idling around. They like to be with their owners at all times and prefer to be a single person dog. They need extensive socializing as pups. They can suffer sometimes with anxiety for example they can develop fear for a place or thing which was previously not a problem. As it matures this anxiety problem slowly disappears. Though are intelligent and fun dogs they tend need lot of mental stimulation and needs training which is adequate but not overly permissive. They make good pets since they look good and get on well with the family. They are sensitive to abuse and negative behavior and are not recommended for first time dog handlers as they require careful and professional handling. They are prone to epilepsy.
