Black Russian Terrier:
The Black Russian Terrier or nicknamed as BRT was bred primarily as a guard dog for the police and is very rare outside Russia. The BRT gives the feeling of immense force, athleticism, strength and audacity.. It should by no means appear to be short of substance or be frail in any way. Males must be visibly more masculine than the bitches. The height of the male is about twenty five to twenty nine inches at the shoulders and weighs anywhere between thirty six to sixty five kilos. BRTs are self-assured, and confident. Other qualities like calmness mixed with bravery and high intelligence makes it easy to train a BRT. It must by no means be shy and nervous, and will not be uncertain to guard the people that it feels affection for if it senses that they are in danger. The BRT possibly will give the impression of being aloof, but desires human camaraderie and attaches sincerely to its people. They are suspicious of guests or outsiders and with time they learn to warm up to new people, and so they are superb guard dogs. BRTs are normally dominant by temperament and call for confident masters who include understanding in managing similar dogs.
