Cardigan Welsh Corgi:
The name for this dog is derived from the place where it originates from i.e Cardiganshire. The Cardigan Welsh Corgi resembles a fox with upright ears. They are long and low dogs. Cor gi may also be translated as dwarf dog due to its size which is about ten or twelve inches to its shoulder .The male can weigh anywhere between thirteen to seventeen kilos and the females weigh lesser i.e. about eleven to fifteen kilos. They come in variety of colors and have white markings on several parts of the body and the blue merle cardigan is the most famous of all. They make excellent pets very devoted and affectionate and are used to herding of sheep and cows by nipping their heels mainly since it can easily roll away from a cows kick due to its small size. They are believed to be the oldest kind of breed and have known to be in existence for over 3000 years in Wales. These dogs are partial towards sharing their love and devotion because they get along well only with a few select members of the family with whom they are familiar with and are very uncomfortable with strangers.
