German Short haired Pointer:
The German Short haired pointer was developed in Germany. This breed of dog was basically developed for hunting. These are also called gun dogs. These are generally lean and athletic and very good at hunting. These are also very responsive to the commands given. These are also the most versatile of all the hunting dogs. These dogs are also intelligent and affectionate in nature and make very popular companion dogs for active owners. This breed in appearance is very streamlined. They have powerful hind quarters that enable them to turn quickly and rapidly. It’s moderately long and flop ears are set high above its head. Its eyes are generally brown in color. These dogs like all other dogs in their breed have webbed feet. The coat of the German pointer is short and flat. They also have a dense undercoat that is protected by stiff hairs. This kind of coating makes the dog resistant to adverse weather conditions and better suited for cold weather. It also helps in protection from water. The color of the coat can be dark brown or more correctly known as liver brown or black in color. These dogs can be between 21 to 25 inches in height and 22 to 23 kgs in weight. These dogs are very bold and intelligent and very responsive to the training given to them.
