West Highland White Terrier:
The West Highland white terrier is originated from Scotland. Its common nickname is Westie. They are popular for their spirited personality. Their brilliant white coat is yet another reason as to why they are so popular. Their eyes are deep and penetrating which makes them look as if they are ready at all times for anything to come by. Its dimensions are about eleven inches to the shoulder and weigh approximately seven to ten kilos and have a hard bone structure owing to their size. They are always bubbling with energy and are known for their tenacity and aggressiveness in hunting their prey. They are very bold and alert at all times which makes them good guard dogs although their size may prove to be a disadvantage in that field. The West Highland white terrier is also very possessive type when it comes to food, toys and its master. They make great pets while traveling and are very friendly with children. However they cannot be kept in apartments since they were originally bred to serve as hunting dogs and need open and wide space. They are to be treated with love and gentleness rather than harsh training for them to be equally cooperative.
