Boxer:
Boxer is of German origin and was developed as a kind of sturdy, short haired dog, with a soft, flat and smooth fawn otherwise brindled hair and sort of square jawed muzzle. They are Brach cephalic, and comprise mandibular prognathism which is an under bite, extremely powerful jaws and a dreadful bite. The Boxer was initially bred from Bulldogs and at the present extinct Bullenbeisser and is branch of the Molosser family.
At first it was exhibited during a dog show in St. Bernard’s conducted in Munich in the year 1895, the first boxer club was established in the following year. With that on 2006 according to the AKC figures, Boxers occupied seventh place for the most popular breed of dog. They are medium sized dogs. The Bullenbeisser had been effective as a hunting dog, working in the pursuit of bear and other games like wild boar and sometimes deer. Its job was to grab hold of the quarry and clutch it and wait for the hunters. Afterwards, quicker dogs were preferential and a smaller Bullenbeisser was developed in Brabant, a province of northern Belgium. It is by and large acknowledged that the Brabanter Bullenbeisser was a direct ancestor of the now present Boxer.
